Itinerary:

Laos’ isolation from foreign influence offers travelers an unparalleled glimpse of traditional Southeast Asian life. From the fertile lowlands of the Mekong River valley to the rugged Annamite highlands, Laos is certainly charming, offering some of the most untarnished attractions in the region.
 
Set by the meandering Mekong River, filled with ancient temples and old houses, Luang Prabang is one of the most alluring places in Southeast Asia. UNESCO has listed it as a world heritage sites and for most travelers, it is the last haven in Asia. It is also becoming a destination for nature lovers wanting to travel off the beaten path. Here, we incorporate interesting activities that would thrill adults and children alike, such as a mahout Elephant training, where you get close encounter with the gentle giants and enjoy a kayaking trip down the river. A refreshing trip tailored for families.

DAY 01BANGKOK / LUANG PRABANG
Fly to Luang Prabang by Bangkok Airways.

Upon arrival, you would be met and transferred to hotel.
This afternoon, explore Luang Prabang. Sitting at the confluence of Mekong and the Khan rivers, this is the most beautiful city in the country. Its many historical building is very well preserved and the medieval ambience also remains intact. Visit Wat Visunalat, Wat Aham, and ascend Mt Phousy for a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding landscape.

DAY 02LUANG PRABANG
Today, you may want to wake up early and join the locals in the morning ritual of offering alms to the monks on their morning walk.
 
Return to the hotel for breakfast before we visit Wat Xieng Thong (Golden City Temple), the city’s most magnificent temple by the Mekong. Continue to tour the former Royal Palace and the National Museum (close on Tuesday and Sunday afternoon)
 
In the afternoon, we catch a traditional long boat trip up the Mekong river to visit the famous Pak Ou cave. The upper section of the cave is part of a limestone cave staffed with Buddha images of all styles and sizes. En route, stop by Ban Xang Khong, the village well-known for its wood papers and silk weavings with natural dyes.

DAY 03LUANG PRABANG / LAOS SPIRIT RESORT
Travel 15km out of Luang Prabang and you are transported into a jungle and flanked by the mountain range. Overnight in Lao Spirit Resort for the night.
Follow the day of the Elephant Mahout. Elephant washing, riding, feeding and sharing time with the locals...and all in the most beautiful area around Luang Prabang!
It's a simple life close to the animals and close to nature. The day of a Mahout is scheduled to fit the needs of the animals and offer you the unique chance to follow this natural rhythm. The setting is wonderful and of natural beauty.
 
Also you will have the chance to ride the Elephants in the neck, to learn some specific methods of controlling the animals. You may ride many times on the first day and get close with the animals during your activities... Feed them, bring them to the jungle and learn how to clean these massive animals.
If time permits, embark on a short trek to visit a small Khmu village and the Tad Sae waterfalls and enjoy the scenery.

LAOS SPIRIT RESORT
The traditional style bungalows were built with patience and love for details. Big glass front windows open a new perspective. You can even see the jungle out of your bed. A bathtub with nature view also add to a wonderful natural luxury. Twin and double beds as well as the selected interior give you a pleasant time. All bungalows have open air shower, fan, and the amazing view just from the terrace.
 
DAY 04LAOS SPIRIT RESORT / LUANG PRABANG
After breakfast and the morning riding lesson, get ready for a kayaking trip that will guide you past beautiful riverside waterfall and numerous native encounters and a dip with the naked, swimming Lao Loum children. Refreshed, return to Luang Prabang and check into your hotel.
The rest of the late afternoon is free for your family to soak up the idyllic charm of this relaxing town.

DAY 05LUANG PRABANG / BEIJING OR SHANGHAI
Free at leisure. In the afternoon, you would be transferred to the airport for your flight.
