Pingyao is a Chinese city and county in central Shanxi province. It lies about 715 km from Beijing and 80 km from the provincial capital, Taiyuan. During the Qing Dynasty, Pingyao was a financial center of China. It is now renowned for its well-preserved ancient city wall, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Located in the west of Henan Province in central China, Luoyang occupies quite an important geographic location. It is in the middle reaches of the Yellow River and is encircled by mountains and plains.
The rarely visited province of Shanxi is a treasure House of Buddhist Arts, medieval city and hidden temples. Starting from Datong where you see one of China UNESCO World Heritage sites - the Yungang Buddhist Grottoes, ends in Pingyao, arguably the best preserved medieval city with old city wall, elegant Qing architecture and narrow cobbled Street.
